Trip Costs, Fundraising and donations

Immersion trips are a ministry designed to help participants deepen their journey of missionary discipleship. For most trips, Maryknoll calculates the total cost and divides it by the expected number of participants. We then ask each participant to contribute at least that amount. You will be asked to make a non-refundable deposit and the full full payment by the deadline. See the Travel Risk Agreement for the trip for more details. Contributions above the required amount to cover costs are considered donations to help others participate in trips. Consult with your legal and financial advisors for guidance about whether such donations are tax deductible.

Make a deposit or payment for an immersion trip using PayPal or Credit Card.

If you find that you are unable to afford your share of the costs, we encourage you to fundraise. Reach out to family, friends, parish members, or school contacts to help cover your expenses. Contributions made on your behalf are considered donations, and depending on the donor’s tax situation, may be tax-deductible. However, donors should consult with their own legal and financial advisors for guidance.

If fundraising does not cover the full amount and you are unable to pay the requested contribution, Maryknoll may be able to subsidize a portion of your costs depending on your situation. To request assistance, please complete this form to apply for financial support.

Easy Steps to Fund raise for the mission Trip

1.  NETWORK

Create a list of you people in your network.  These are people who know you and who you think would be likely to support you in this effort.  This includes family  members, friends, people from your communities, mentors, your parish community, etc.

2.  OUTREACH

Email.  Write appeal letter. Use Facebook to create a fundraising campaign. Organize fundraising activities like bake sales, car wash, baby sitting, etc.

3.  FOLLOW-UP

Follow-up is important.  Call everyone who you personally contacted.

4.  TRACK YOUR PROGRESS
